超高层建筑屋顶直升飞机停机坪设置探讨及建议

为适应城市对国防、治安、反恐、消防、金融、通信、旅游等的需求,许多超高层建筑在屋顶设置了直升飞机停机坪,但现行的消防设计规范对超高层建筑屋顶设置直升机停机坪未做强制的规定,各方意见不一。笔者结合实践工作经验,试图以建筑高度为界限对超高层建筑屋顶直升飞机停机坪进行探讨并提出一些直升飞机停机坪设置的建议。     

Psychophysical basis for maximum pushing and pulling forces: A review and recommendations

The objective of this paper was to perform a comprehensive review of psychophysically determined maximum acceptable pushing and pulling forces. Factors affecting pushing and pulling forces are identified and discussed. Recent studies show a significant decrease (compared to previous studies) in maximum acceptable forces for males but not for females when pushing and pulling on a treadmill. A comparison of pushing and pulling forces measured using a high inertia cart with those measured on a treadmill shows that the pushing and pulling forces using high inertia cart are higher for males but are about the same for females. It is concluded that the recommendations of Snook and Ciriello (1991) for pushing and pulling forces are still valid and provide reasonable recommendations for ergonomics practitioners. Regression equations as a function of handle height, frequency of exertion and pushing/pulling distance are provided to estimate maximum initial and sustained forces for pushing and pulling acceptable to 75% male and female workers.

Red meat in global nutrition

The influence of data and recommendations from developed countries on nutrition guidance has overshadowed recognition of the key micronutrients and protein contributed by red meat to the global food supply. Relative to the energy it contributes, the impact of red meat on the nutritional quality of the human diet via its contribution of protein and key micronutrients is under-appreciated. The current discussion will review red meat nutrient composition and global consumption rates and discuss the evidence underpinning current dietary recommendations. The beneficial role of red meat in reducing risk factors associated with noncommunicable disease in developed countries and improving the nutritional status of developing nations will also be reviewed.

Neglected aspects and unsupported claims.

Comments on the article by M. E. Kite et al (see record 2001-10045-002), which summarized the findings and recommendations of the Task Force on the Status of Women in Academe. The present authors contend that while Kite et al documented the differences in the activities of men and women in academia, it is not clear that "inequalities persist." Kite et al interpreted the observed differences in outcomes between men and women as self-evident indicators of remaining bias and discrimination. The present authors warn of two problems with this interpretation. First, Kite et al neglected important variables that suggest alternative interpretations of these differences. Second, the authors made unsupported claims about the existence of bias and discrimination against women. Here the present authors document specific cases of these errors in reasoning. In conclusion, observed differences between men and women might be partly a reflection of other (neglected) personological variables on which the sexes overlap considerably but differ on average. Just as differential outcomes do not imply differential opportunities, equal opportunities do not necessarily produce equal outcomes. Development and introduction of new designs for gas-dust flow mixing distribution systems at thermal power plants

The successful introduction and setup of new designs for dust separators in Russian and foreign 200–800 MW coal-fired power production units is described. Results from mathematical and physical modelling of these designs, as well as data on their operation in test stands, are presented. Recommendations are given for the most suitable equipment and configurations of new dust distribution systems in dust preparation systems.
